He looks so little!!

Ryan spent his first night in a "big boy" bed tonight~ When the movers unpacked the crib the screws were nowhere to be seen. We kept Ryan in the pack-n-play for a few more nights but then figured a month in that little thing was enough. He was head-to-toe diagonally, after all. Happy as a clam though :) Anyway, I had to bribe Colin with a new dot-to-dot book so that he would stay in bed and not teach Ryan any bad tricks. Worked like a charm. They both did great! I can't believe that my baby is really 2 and ready to be out of his crib. Where did the time go?

Old Friends, New Places

We had a great morning. We met a friend of mine from college, Stephanie, and her boys Miles and Simon at the beach this morning. We went to one of the lagoons at Ko'Olina. The water was crystal clear and very shallow. I was surprised how salty the Pacific is... We say 3 different kids of fish, Sgt. Majors, needlefish and one other that I didn't know. We also say a small sea turtle swimming in the lagoon. He was about 10 meters from us. It was SO cool! And what a beautiful spot.

Our First House Guest

We had our first guest today :) Ryan and I were exploring the new digs and found a gecko on the sliding door in the kitchen. Yes, he was inside. I think they're cool so we touched him and then chased him around for a while. He quickly went back to his home out back, unharmed. Ryan was so excited to get to touch a little lizard.

Aloha!!

We arrived safely in Hawaii today! The flight was super long but went really well. The boys were amazing!!! Ryan was a bit under the weather, which I think ended up being a blessing. He was very quiet all day. And we got lucky and one of the movies on the plane was Ratitouille, Colin thought it was so cool to get to watch a movie on the airplane.

When we arrived Dave was waiting with lai's and ready to take up to our new home. He had all of our rooms set up with Aloha furniture (the loaner stuff the Navy give you until your things arrive). He even had the fridge stocked, wine and all ;) The house is great (1st pic)! We're in Navy housing just a mile down the road from Pearl Harbor. Some friends from VA Beach, The Taylor's, live just down the street. We've already seen signs of lots of kids, there are great playgrounds (pic #2 is across the street) and a pool. We're all excited to see what Hawaii has in store for us. Fingers crossed, it will be a great adventure.
